Experience the Power of Outdoor Recreation

The Wyoming Outdoor Recreation Business Alliance is hitting the road—bringing policymakers to communities across the state to experience firsthand the power of outdoor recreation.

Overview

The three-part Outdoor Recreation Roadshow is designed to spotlight the people, places, and potential of outdoor recreation across Wyoming. Each stop will focus on a different region, highlighting unique outdoor opportunities, local businesses, and community partners. These curated tours will bring together elected officials, business owners, and local leaders for immersive, place-based experiences that showcase the role outdoor recreation plays in Wyoming’s economy.

Purpose

Outdoor recreation contributes over $2 billion annually to Wyoming, yet many recreation hubs remain underfunded and overlooked. Outdoor recreation has the power to boost tourism, support rural development, strengthen public health, attract and retain a strong workforce. By building meaningful relationships and offering firsthand experiences, the Roadshow helps demonstrate how outdoor recreation strengthens communities, supports local economies, and contributes to a thriving future for Wyoming.

Roadshow Stops

  • Sweetwater County

    Spring 2026

The high desert region of Sweetwater County is home to some of Wyoming’s most striking recreation assets, from OHV trails to premier angling destinations and the iconic Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. During the tour, participants will explore regional highlights and untapped potential, visit locations such as the spectacular Firehole Canyon during a guided bus tour, connect with outdoor business owners and local leaders, and see firsthand how outdoor recreation can drive economic growth in southwest Wyoming.

  • Park County

    Spring 2026

Park County is playing a key role in closing the gaps in the Great American Rail‑Trail—a 3,700‑mile non‑motorized corridor stretching from Washington, D.C. to Washington state—by advancing trail connections through Powell, Ralston, and toward Yellowstone National Park. This tour offers a firsthand look at the potential for safe, scenic, multiuse pathways. Attendees will explore early trail segments, visit the Beck Lake Bike Park in Cody, engage with local advocates and economic development leaders, and gain insight into how regional trail connectivity can strengthen rural communities, attract tourism, and support public health through increased access to the outdoors.

  • Lincoln / Sublette Counties

    January 2026

Please stay tuned as plans for the final stop of the 2025 Roadshow come together. Attendees can expect breathtaking winter scenery, meaningful conversations with local outdoor leaders, and a chance to experience winter recreation in Wyoming—perhaps even on snowshoes or a snowmobile.
